Making a Difference With a Passion for Research

Lisa and Mark Schneider

Mark and Lisa Schneider believe so passionately in the mission of the Foundation that they decided to make a future gift supporting research.

The Schneiders believe in leading by example. Mark, as president of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's DC/Virginia chapter board, and his wife, Lisa, are deeply committed to the Foundation and to their roles as visible mission advocates in the community.

As parents to a son with Crohn's disease, the Schneiders first became connected to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation in 2010, when Mark began participating in the Team Challenge program, running in half-marathons and raising funds for the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) community. That experience introduced Mark to the Foundation's work to drive research and support patients.

Mark and Lisa feel strongly that the Foundation's research efforts are crucial to finding cures for IBD. They recognize that the Foundation is the leading source of funding for IBD research, and they are incredibly impressed with the leaders in the field who are engaging with the Foundation—their dedication, intelligence, and commitment to advancements that will impact the lives of patients. They have also seen the wisdom of the Foundation's research investment strategy, which looks nationally—even globally—at the problem, driving and coordinating specific research across platforms that can share advances and lead to progress more efficiently.

Because they believe so passionately in the Foundation's research, the Schneiders are members of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Founders Society. Mark and Lisa are committed to having a lasting impact through their legacy giving.
